RELEASE DATE 2nd December 2005
TITLE TRENT RIVER PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCES 2015 VISION

The Trent River Partnership* has launched its vision** for the Trent River Park in 2015. The aim is that the Trent River Park will by then be nationallly renowned because of the concentration of excellent visitor attractions.

Improvements which the partnership plans include the Victoria Embankment area, which will have been regenerated providing a focus for events, activities, races, festivals and sport. Nottingham Waterside, which will be transformed into a major new waterfront urban quarter for the City. Also, visitors will be able to travel all the way from Attenborough to Gunthorpe Bridge along both banks and additional river crossings will allow greater access for cyclists and pedestrians.

Tony Aitchison from Groundwork Greater Nottingham who manages the Park Project on behalf of the partnership said, “The vision for the Trent River Park will only be achieved if the local authorities and agencies with responsibilities for the river work collaboratively to a shared agenda and priorities for action. This is now happening through the Trent River Park Partnership”
