RELEASE DATE 3rd February 2006
TITLE LOCAL CHARITY EXPORTS METHODOLOGY TO SWEDEN

Local regeneration charity Groundwork Greater Nottingham has been invited to share its knowledge and best practice with local government officers in Sweden. The invitation by the city of Linköping to Groundwork Greater Nottingham resulted from a visit to Nottingham by representatives of private and public sector organisations across Sweden.

Richard Chamberlain, who will be representing Groundwork explains, "The Swedish visitors saw a variety of regeneration activity across the UK. However, they were most impressed with the Groundwork approach and the way in which we work with communities to ensure that the opinions and needs of local people are listened to and taken into account in all our projects."

It is hoped that through the visit, links with representatives in the city of Linköping will be strengthened further. Richard Chamberlain continues, "As well as Swedish regeneration officers learning from the Groundwork approach, I would like to see our own project delivery staff learning from the very different approaches being taken to deliver regeneration in Sweden.
