Representatives from local regeneration and environmental charity,

Groundwork Greater Nottingham will be attending the forthcoming concert which is being played by one of the UK's most popular bands, Scissor Sisters at Nottingham Arena on Sunday 12th November. The band are supporting Groundwork Greater Nottingham during their visit to the city.

During the current UK tour, Scissor Sisters are supporting different local charities from the towns and cities in which they are performing. As well as assisting the local charities with obtaining much needed media coverage, they are helping local good causes by contributing cash raised through guest ticket contributions and other competitions.

Richard Chamberlain of Groundwork Greater Nottingham explains, "We were contacted by the Scissor Sisters to see if we would be happy for Groundwork Greater Nottingham to be supported by them at their concert at the Nottingham Arena. This was an opportunity we could not miss out on - being associated with a great band like this - so naturally, we were only too happy to get involved."

An American band, The Scissor Sisters were formed in 2001, but did not come to prominence in the UK until 2004 when their single, Comfortably Numb reached number 10 in the charts. Since then they have gone from strength to strength and are now one of the UK's most popular bands. Their current single entitled "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" is currently number 15 in the UK charts.
