RELEASE DATE 17 March 2006
TITLE BROXTOWE WALKS START IN EARNEST

Environmental and regeneration charity Groundwork Greater Nottingham has announced the launch of the 2006 series of walks in association with Broxtowe Borough Council.

With the series starting in earnest on Monday 3 April at Colliers Wood near Moorgreen, a series of walks are planned for this year across Broxtowe, giving people the opportunity to explore this picturesque area of Nottinghamshire. Richard Chamberlain, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Groundwork Greater Nottingham said, "Broxtowe really is a wonderful part the county of Nottinghamshire. It has some wonderful countryside and some great parks.

170 different walks are planned, and participants will have the opportunity to explore many different areas of Broxtowe whilst accompanied by an experienced guide and not only find out about the areas they explore, but get some great exercise at the same time."

Walks are taking place starting at different sites across the borough from Colliers Wood in the north to Attenborough Nature Reserve in the south and are all free. To compliment the walks Groundwork Greater Nottingham in partnership with Broxtowe Borough Council will be launching a leaflet giving details of all the walks scheduled. This will be available from April through Groundwork Greater Nottingham on 0115 9788212. The leaflet will also be available to download from the Groundwork Greater Nottingham website at www.groundworkgreaternottingham.org.uk.
