RELEASE DATE 30 November 2006
TITLE FACELIFTS IMPROVE THE FACE HYSON GREEN BUSINESSES

Businesses in the Hyson Green area of Nottingham will soon benefit from major improvement works which are being managed by local regeneration charity, Groundwork Greater Nottingham.

Plans have been drawn up by Groundwork Greater Nottingham's Landscape Architects for a new forecourt space on Gregory Boulevard, in the Hyson Green area of Nottingham. The work, being funded by the European Regional Development Fund and New Deal for Communities will see works being carried out to install what will be a new tarmac and block inlay forecourt in front of the parade of shops at the Radford Road end of Gregory Boulevard. It is expected that the improvements will greatly improve the look of the parade and make it a more desirable place to live and shop.

Paul Crawford, Landscape Technician at Groundwork and project manager for the improvement works, said “There has been a little upheaval in the forecourt area but this has been minimised as far as possible. Local traders have been very enthusiastic about the improvements and we are grateful to them for their cooperation during the disruption.”

Work is targeted for completion by mid-December.
